ViewSonic announced it’s 2016 gaming monitor series at CES 2016 and the highly anticipated professional grade monitors are now shipping. The XG Series consists of three monitors: XG2401, XG2701 and XG2700-4K.

XG2401 and XG2701 (for serious gamers)

As you have probably already guessed, the XG01 models come in two sizes: 24″ (XG2401) and 27″ (XG2701).

They both have 144 Hertz refresh rate and 1 ms response time as one would expect from a serious gaming monitor in 2016. These are also the specs you are looking for when buying a gaming monitor for CS:GO.  As most premium gaming monitors these days, they also include some features for gaming purposes solely, such as black stabilization (for spotting opponents in dark surroundings, just like BenQ’s have their black equalization feature) and “Game Mode” feature that optimizes visuals for different game genres like FPS, RTS and MOBA.

All the technology comes packed in a neat black and red design with an integrated headphone hook and cable management functionality.

Pricing and Buying

ViewSonic is selling these monitors on Amazon and the prices are $300 for 24-inch model and $400 for 27-inch, which are really competitive in the niche of serious gaming monitors.

XG2700-4K (for more casual gamers)

XG2700-4K is, as the name suggests, a 27-inch 4K Ultra HD gaming monitor. The humongous size means there have been some compromises elsewhere: instead of the 1 ms response rate of the XG01 series it runs on 5 ms. On its native resolution of 3840×2160 the refresh rate is 60 Hz. So overall it is not ideal for those playing competitive CS:GO in the highest levels but for more casual approach it is enough and the SuperClear IPS panel provides superior colors.

XG2700-4K has the same gaming features as the XG01 models listed above.
