Best Mouse For CS:GO 2024

This gaming mouse list is based upon our research of professional CS:GO players and our own tests.

BenQ ZOWIE EC1-B & EC2-B Gaming Mouse

BenQ ZOWIE EC1-B

Rating: 5/5

  • EC1-B: 5.04 x 2.72 x 1.7 in / 3.32 oz
  • EC2-B: 4.72 x 2.52 x 1.57 in / 3.17 oz
  • Sensor: 3360
  • 5 buttons
BenQ Zowie EC2 Ergonomic Gaming Mouse for Esports | Professional Grade Performance | Driverless | FPS Matte Black Non-Slip Coating | Medium Size
  • Made for Professional Esports Gamers: The EC series is the result of extensive ergonomics research and collaboration with top esports players. Each feature was chosen to increase comfort and reliability for ideal competitive performance
  • Made to Fit Your Hand: Choose from two sizes to ensure a perfect fit, no matter your hand size
  • Designed for Competiton: The EC2’s cable is made from flexible rubber to help protect against inner wire damage when traveling to competitions. The extended 6.6ft length allows freedom of movement without the added input latency caused by wireless mice
  • Optimized for FPS Games: 3360 optical sensor with 4 levels of adjustable DPI (400/800/1600/3200) provides reliable and customizable gaming performance without any additional software
  • Customized Esports Performance: Driverless adjustable report rate (125/500/1000Hz) allows you to fine-tune the mouse to your preferred setting

EC-B series is the latest edition of the original Zowie masterpiece and a successor to the largely appreciated EC-A (read our Zowie EC2-A review). It’s been the go-to CS:GO mouse you could recommend to anybody looking to get good.

The most notable difference is the upgraded sensor. Without going too much into the nitty-gritty the 3360 has twice the tracking power of the old 3310. Because the 3310 sensor already was excellent you probably won’t notice too much of a difference, but 3360 certainly deals better with rapid spinning movements.

In other news the LED light on the scroll wheel is now gone, the side buttons are slightly more “clicky” and the bottom has four small feet instead of the previous two large ones at both ends. BenQ ZOWIE also added a button for changing the polling rate at the bottom – you no longer need to use button combinations to change it.

The BenQ ZOWIE flagship model comes in two sizes: EC1-B is bigger and heavier than the EC2-B. Generally speaking if you have a big hand go for the EC1-B and if you have a small hand go for the EC2-B. but this, once again, is a matter of preference. I myself have found over the years that even though my hand is relatively small I get the best grip with bigger mice.

ENDGAME GEAR XM1 Gaming Mouse

Endgame Gear XM1

Rating: 5/5

  • COMPETITIVE GAMING MOUSE: The key to success is in your hand —literally—with Endgame Gear’s XM1 gaming mouse! Its 6 buttons, low latency, and high DPI combine to elevate your game performance. An anti-sweat coating and a light weight further strengthen this symmetrical, ergonomic gaming mouse.

  • CUTTING-EDGE COMFORT: The symmetrical XM1 is anti-sweat and easy to grip. The 2 main buttons, 2 thumb buttons, and mouse wheel enable simultaneous inputs, like moving and jumping while throwing a grenade. At only 70 g, the mouse features undisturbed sliding on large Teflon feet.
  • ADVANCED LIGHT-UP MOUSE: Thanks to 14 RGB LEDs, the mouse wheel, logo, and RGB ring at the bottom of the mouse are illuminated with up to 16.7 million colors. A total of 5 lighting modes with different effects and 4 brightness levels are available. Choose between black, white, or clear casing.
  • WIDELY COMPATIBLE: The XM1 wired mouse measures 12.19 x 6.58 x 3.81 cm and weighs only 2.89 oz., fitting alongside any PC gaming-accessories setup. It connects via a 185-centimeter black flex cord to any PC with a USB 2.0 Type-A port. Program and store up to 4 CPI profiles in the onboard memory.

German Endgame Gear caught us off guard with their XM1 gaming mouse. It’s their first product and they’ve nailed it perfectly.

It’s the lightest mouse on our list so it’s safe to say the switch from my beloved old Rival 300 was quite a change. This was the mouse that finally changed my mind from “I need a bit of weight to feel precise” to “any extra weight limits my crispness”.

The test shall continue, but after a few months I still haven’t had a single accident of a scroll wheel malfunction, which is a common occurence in any of the old giants.

If you game you must have heard of the SteelSeries Rival. Rival 310 is the upgraded version of Rival 300 which was the original Rival revamped. Rival 300 came with a better sensor and most importantly fixed the horrible side grips of the original Rival. What’s new in the 310 then?

Sensor has been updated to SteelSeries’ own 3360 variant called TrueMove3, which was made in collaboration with Pixart. SteelSeries also managed to trim 8 grams of the weight which is quite a lot as far as gaming mice are concerned. The previous version of Rival was one of the heaviest mice around, whereas 310 is now about average. We also felt that the shape has gotten even better but this is a matter of preference.

Logitech is actually the second most used mouse manufacturer within the CS:GO professional scene. When this article was originally written we complained about the gimmicky UFO designs that most of Logitech’s gaming mice had back then. Luckily things have changed for the better since and most Logitech’s new gaming mice are actually real palm pleasers with no extra gimmicks.

If you want a small and light gaming mouse G Pro is your choice.

  • Adjustable report rate 125/500/1000Hz for different levels of responsiveness
  • Plug and Play (No drivers required)

BenQ ZOWIE FK1 and FK2 follow the same logic as the EC-A series: 1 is bigger. They are built with the same sensor as the EC-A models so the only difference is in the design: the FK models are flatter than the EC-A. This is because they are designed to be ambidextrous, meaning that they can be used with both left and right hand. So if you are a leftie, this is your mouse.

For the right handed people I find the “fatter” design of the EC-B models a better fit, but this does not diminish the technical merits of the mouse.

BenQ ZOWIE has added an even bigger (they’ve labeled it “XL”) version to their catalog: FK1+.

SteelSeries Sensei 310

SteelSeries Sensei 310

Rating: 4.5/5

  • Size: 4.93 x 2.77 x 1.53 in / 3.25 oz
  • Sensor: TrueMove3 (3360 variant)
  • 8 buttons
Sale
SteelSeries Sensei 310 Gaming Mouse - 12,000 CPI TrueMove3 Optical Sensor - Ambidextrous Design - Split-Trigger Buttons - RGB Lighting, Black
  • Custom TrueMove3 12,000 CPI, 350 IPS optical 1-to-1 tracking esports sensor
  • Legendary SteelSeries Sensei ambidextrous design for claw and palm grip styles
  • Two-zone, multi-color Prism RGB illumination for customizable lighting. Save all your performance and lighting settings directly to the Sensei 310
  • Compatible operating system is windows, mac, and linux. Usb port required. Software is steelseries engine 3.10.12 plus, for windows 7 or newer and mac osx 10.8 or newer

The relationship between SteelSeries Rival 310 and Sensei 310 is comparable to the one between Zowie EC-A and FK. They have pretty much the same design but Sensei 310 is flatter as it is ambidextrous as well. The older version, Sensei RAW, was the only gaming mouse on our original list that had a laser sensor but the revamped Sensei 310 comes with the same TrueMove3 optical sensor as Rival 310.

Sensei 310 also comes with the same silicone side grips as the Rival 310 while the Sensei RAW was completely naked from the sides.

SteelSeries Rival 110

SteelSeries Rival 110

Rating: 4/5

SteelSeries Rival 110 Gaming Mouse - 7,200 CPI TrueMove1 Optical Sensor - Lightweight Design - RGB Lighting (Renewed)
  • This Certified Refurbished product is tested and certified to look and work like new. The refurbishing process includes functionality testing, basic cleaning, inspection, and repackaging. The product ships with all relevant accessories, a minimum 90-day warranty, and may arrive in a generic box. Only select sellers who maintain a high performance bar may offer Certified Refurbished products on Amazon.com
  • Custom TrueMove1, 7,200 CPI, 240 IPS, 30g optical sensor
  • Ergonomic 6-button universal design for all grip styles
  • Guaranteed 30 million Left/Right click durability
  • Lightweight 90g durable design

SteelSeries Rival 110 is the budget version of the Rival 310. It has some compromises in terms of quality, the most important one being the sensor – 110 has the TrueMove1 which could be described as the little brother of the TrueMove3. Rival 110 is still a good mouse overall so if you like the Rival design but don’t have the money, go for the 110.

Nixeus REVEL

Nixeus Revel Gaming Mouse PMW 3360 for Windows & Mac OS, Rubberized Black

  • Programmable Buttons: 5
  • Operating System: Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 & Mac OS
  • Warranty: 1 Year Limited Warranty by Nixeus. No mouse pad required

Nixeus REVEL is the dark horse of our list. While the brand is certainly nowhere as famous as others on our list the REVEL is an excellent budget gaming mouse. It has the 3360 sensor, build quality is great and the shape is very similar to the original Sensei. This thing really gives Rival 110 a good run for it’s money.

CSGO Pro Mouse – 2024 Statistics

CSGO pro mouse statistics - infographic about which gaming mouse CSGO pros use the most

What’s the most used gaming mouse by CSGO pros?

BenQ ZOWIE EC2.

According to our data, the most used mice by CSGO pros are:

1. BenQ ZOWIE EC2  (30.4%)
2. BenQ ZOWIE S2  (10.9%)
3. Logitech G Pro Wireless  (9.4%)
4. BenQ ZOWIE EC1  (8%)
5. Logitech MX518  (4.3%)

Our CSGO pro mouse data consists of the best 30 teams in the world (thus: top 150 players).

Most Used Gaming Mice Manufacturers

What’s the most used mouse manufacturer by CS:GO pros? BenQ ZOWIE.

According to our data, the most used mouse manufacturers by CS:GO pros are:

  1. BenQ ZOWIE (61.6%)
  2. Logitech (21.7%)
  3. Razer (5.3%)
  4. SteelSeries (3.6%)
  5. Other (7.2%)

The data was gathered in January 2020 from multiple sources, always picking the most recently updated information. For all players in the top 30 teams gaming mouse information was not available, hence the total number of entries is 138 instead of 150 (30*5).

If you are interested in more data have a look at our guides about CS:GO keyboardsmonitorsheadsets, mouse pads and mouse bungees.

Before You Jump Into Conclusions

Disclaimer: buying any of these mice will not make you a better player. You won’t get Niko’s aim and you won’t turn into a spraygod overnight. However, if you want to train your set of skills and get anywhere near being half decent in the game, you do need quality equipment.

Even if you are not aspiring to get to the very top let me tell you this universal rule that applies to a lot of hobbies – guitars, bicycling… you name it. If you start out with bad gear the chances are you will lose your interest sooner rather than later.

Learning to play the guitar with a guitar that sounds bad and doesn’t stay in tune, riding a bike that drops the chains every once in a while… it’s just not fun. The same rule applies to gaming as well: you play with a terrible mouse, you play terribly and the chances are you won’t touch the game ever again. Having quality gear will make the experience much more fun.

Ok then, but why would I buy any of these mice when I can get a ”gaming mouse” from Walmart for 15 bucks?

Once again: quality, quality and quality. If these mice are good enough for people who play CS at the highest level for 6 to 12 hours a day and make their living out of it, they sure are good enough for me and you.

These mice are top notch, the créme de la créme, the best money can buy and yet they still remain affordable for almost every gamer. Buying the best gaming mouse is not like buying a Lamborghini in terms of money.

…and buying a quality gaming mouse you will use for years to come will eventually get cheaper than buying a poorly built 15 dollar mouse once every three months.

Why Trust Us?

First of all, we have the unofficial Seal of Approval by Mr. FACEIT, James Bardolph:

Secondly, if you found your way here by googling advice, the chances are you checked out some other articles as well.

Having done that you probably ask to yourself: “why should I trust this guy instead of this other guy?”

We hate to break an illusion but the truth is the creators of those lists most likely have never a) used those mice b) played video games enough to understand the merits of a good mouse.

As a matter of fact, they probably don’t even understand that you can actually be good or bad at playing video games!

Don’t Get Fooled By Phonies

These are actual quotes from these “review” sites. Some of these claims are just so plain stupid that I will address these shortly. If you would say stuff like this (except the last one, it requires some knowledge about pro CS) to anyone who has ever played games anywhere beyond casual they would laugh you off.

  1. No. Aiming and shooting are skills you develop. This is like saying “this knife will improve your cooking skills”.
  2. Literally no one better than god-awful at any game has ever done this. The “on-the-fly” DPI switches are there purely because of changing mouse DPI with a button is easier than going through software.
  3. This sentence does not actually make that much of a sense.
  4. Sure it does. See number 1.
  5. Yeah, because someone else can tell what is ergonomic for your hand. Not.
  6. “Professional golfers using this chastity belt: Tiger Woods”. Emilio is banned for life from competing in CSGO.

How We Selected

The gaming mice on our list have been selected by thorough 1) testing of the mice and 2) researching the technical details, opinions of relevant people, CS:GO forums, tech forums and most importantly the professional Counter-Strike scene.

If you don’t have a clue what’s Counter-Strike or how it is relevant to this guide see our article about CSGO pro gear. In short, these mice are being used by the very best (as in professional) players of the most technically challenging game there is at the moment.

Every mouse on our list matches the following standards:

  1. Great build quality
  2. Great sensor
  3. Quality acknowledged by either us or pro CS:GO players, preferably both

So no, this is not your average “which mouse has the highest DPI number and most LED colors” (both of which are totally irrelevant in terms of in-game performance) type of guide.

That’s all there is to know about choosing the best mouse for CS:GO. What’s your pick?

Welcome to our ultimate guide about choosing the best mouse for CS:GO! Mouse is the single most important piece of equipment of any CS player, so you’re doing yourself a huge favor by reading our guide.

In addition to our picks and advice you will find statistics about the gaming mice used by the best professional CS:GO players in the world.

If you’re here to just check out our picks, here they are:
